Shepton Montague Parish Council
Welcome to the ancient Somerset village and civil parish of Shepton Montague. The parish encompasses the village of the same name, together with the outlying hamlets of Higher Shepton, Lower Shepton and Stoney Stoke. It covers 2,142 acres, bordering Bruton to the north, Pitcombe to the west, Bratton Seymour to the south, Charlton Musgrove to the south east and Brewham to the north east. The 2021 census showed the population as 208, the same as in 2011.
Shepton Montague Parish Council is a local authority that makes decisions on behalf of the people in our village. The Council and its unpaid volunteer Councillors welcomes the support, views and input from the community. Your local council is the first stop for concerns and ideas to improve your village as a place to live, work and play. We will help by escalating issues to the authority up the line. Since April 2023 due to the creation of a new Unitary Authority, this is now Somerset Council.
