Planning applications

Shepton Montague Parish Council (SMPC) takes a keen and active interest in all local planning issues and is consulted by the Local Planning Authority, Somerset Council, over applications received from within the Parish and, occasionally, from outside the Parish but of potential interest to our residents. This is particularly important in relation to developments at The Newt/Emily Estate, which fall within several parishes including Shepton Montague. We do not always hear about developments in neighbouring Parishes.

In our local area, Black Eight is a community group from Yarlington, Galhampton and North Cadbury, sharing concerns on planned property developments in the area, including those at The Newt.  For further information follow the link:  Black Eight

The Parish Council take account of any comments which are communicated to them within the specified time limits by individuals and organisations. Individual residents of the Parish are encouraged to consult the published details of the submitted applications and make known to both Somersett Council and SMPC any comments you may have.
